Since I last saw my neurologist in October I have recently developed severe non-positional head pain with ringing tinnitus that seems to worsen when I lie down.

He has referred me for a non-targeted blood patch which will take place in January. My neurologist said there was about 30% chance this would happen. My MRI of the brain with contrast was reported by the radiologist as normal. For this reason my neurologist suggested I am suffering from low pressure headache secondary to spontaneous spinal CSF leak. I realised that when I lie down on my front and side the headache would dissipate. I often wake up without a headache and within a few minutes of standing it appears. The headache varies in its location and intensity day by day. It does not respond to any migraine medications. The headache started suddenly with no obvious precipitating event and is ‘pressure’ like in nature. I have been suffering with headache since February of this year. I was wondering if any of you would have some insight on this. If you think you have an emergency, please call your doctor or emergency services immediately.
